On Saturday (9/26) our XC teams and Elementary run club was at the Irish Fox & Hound race at KVCC. This is a unique race with staggered starts based on each runner’s best times so far this season. In theory, every runner has a chance to finish first in this race because of this format. It was a perfect morning for running and our Eagles did an amazing job. Up first was the MS race and every HCA runner had either a personal record (PR) or a season record (SR). Congratulations to Isabel Dodge for taking 7:09 off her previous best time and finishing the race in first place!! Times for our AWESOME middle schoolers were as follows: Jeena Thwaites (15:48 PR), Chole Karakula (16:14 PR), Hollyn Karakula (17:10 PR), Morgan Cole (17:18 SR), Isabel Dodge (19:21 PR), Brady Cole (15:02 PR), Gabe Cavanaugh (15:28 PR), Daniel Thwaites (15:31 PR) and Justin Cary (16:52 PR). Not to be outdone our highschoolers did an outstanding job as well. Congratulations to Eva Cavanaugh for taking 3:17 off her previous best and finishing the race in first place!! Notable times for the HS team were Eva Cavanaugh (31:21 PR), Seth Crown (18:56 SR), Jordan Bishop (24:42 SR) and Alex Hammond (24:54 PR). This race also has awards for the runner who takes the most time off their previous best (Fox) and for the runner who passes the most runners (Hound). Our Eagles took home 4 out of the 8 of these awards. Finally, was the elementary race and they too did a great job. No official times were tracked but each of our run club runners did an amazing job in the one-mile sprint. To God be the glory, GO EAGLES!!!!
