Varsity girls lost to Hopkins on Friday night. Saxons had an early lead in the first quarter but fell behind by 14 at half. Saxons trailed by 7 late in the third quarter after a run of baskets by Tenleigh Nichols, Maddie Vincent and Olivia Friddle. The Saxons were led in scoring by Vincent with 8, and Bella and Olivia Friddle each with 6 points. Hopkins hit several 3 in the last quarter to stretch their lead. Saxons open conference play against Harper Creek on Tuesday.
