The Boys Wrestling team had a solid opening weekend. On Saturday (126) the Varsity Wrestling team travelled to Greenville to compete in team duals. The team finished in 2nd place and 4-1 overall on the day. The Saxons bested Petoskey (64-9), Belding (53-21), Hamilton (71-12), and Caledonia (42-32). The team lost a close dual to Greenville (32-41). Hunter Sutfin, Reece Laws, and Jace Acker went 5-0 for the day. Reyd Zoerman and Isaac Lilley were also undefeated going 4-0 overall. Liam Renner and Matthew Shults ended the day with a 4-1. Josh Roberts and Karson Gray finished with 3 wins apiece. The B Wrestling team also competed in varsity competition at Bangor on Saturday. The team also finished 4-1 for the day against other varsity teams. Mason Baker and Kade Case finished the day 5-0. Jax Balderson, Joey Renner, Jace Slaughter, and Reese Hammond all had 4 wins on the day. JV wrestling also competed at Greenville on Saturday. Micalan Villanueva ended in first place, Anthony Hernandez-Ramirez took 2nd, and Preston Laird took 3rd place.
