Raiders Fall 4-1 to No. 17 Western in Rescheduled Matchup

By Jordin Youst | Sep 29, 2025 2:21 PM

The Raiders hosted No. 17-ranked Western in a rain-rescheduled contest that could preview a potential regional showdown. Still without No. 1 singles player Zan Young, the lineup was shifted up once again, and the visitors took advantage, handing the Raiders a 4-1 loss. The lone victory of the night came at No. 1 doubles, where Emerson Mohr and Zoli Csathy battled through a tight second set to earn a 6-3, 7-6 (7) win. At No. 2 doubles, the Raiders stayed competitive early but were undone by unforced errors and double faults, falling 6-4, 6-0. In singles play, each Raider fought hard in elevated positions, but Western’s depth proved too much. With the lineup stretched, the Raiders couldn’t quite keep pace, ultimately conceding all three singles courts. Despite the 1-4 setback, the match provided valuable experience and a preview of the level needed as postseason play approaches.
