The Raiders rolled into Culver Academy for a double header showdown against two top tier powerhouses. In the opening match against the #3-ranked St. Joe Huskies, the Raiders nearly pulled off an upset. The match came down to a super tiebreaker at #1 singles, where sophomore Zan Young fought through an injury, but ultimately fell 10-7. The Raiders notched two victories in doubles play, highlighted by a 6-0, 6-3 sweep at No. 1 doubles and a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. In the second match of the day, the Raiders squared off with host and #11-ranked Culver, who had earlier defeated St. Joe 3-2. Playing without their top singles player, the Raiders were swept in singles, but pushed both doubles courts to the limit. At No. 1 doubles, the Raiders fell 7-6 (5), 7-5, while No. 2 doubles went the distance before dropping 6-4, 4-6, 10-8. Although the Raiders left Culver without a team victory, their performance showed resilience and the ability to challenge some of the state’s best programs.
