The Harrison boys cross country team wrapped up an outstanding 2026 season Saturday, October 31, competing among Indiana's best at the IHSAA State Finals at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. The Raiders finished 16th out of 25 teams with 410 points and a team average of 16:22. While the results were not quite what the team had hoped for, earning the opportunity to compete at the state level was a tremendous accomplishment and a fitting conclusion to a memorable season. Junior Jacob Tilton led the Raiders, finishing 57th overall in 15:55.2. Senior Alex King followed closely behind in 59th place with a time of 15:55.6. Logan Breon finished 164th in 16:34.5, followed by Morgen Weathers in 178th with a time of 16:41.6 and Jango Lane in 179th, also running 16:41.6. Ryan Jordan finished 182nd in 16:42.9, while Stewart Page rounded out the Harrison lineup in 237th place with a time of 17:22.6. The State Finals provided valuable experience for a young group of Raiders. Five of the seven runners competing Saturday will return next season, giving Harrison a strong foundation to build upon. For those returning athletes, experiencing the atmosphere, competition and expectations of the state meet will be something they can carry into their preparation for next fall. The team also recognizes and appreciates its seniors, Alex King and Jango Lane, for everything they contributed to the program. Both played important roles in helping Harrison reach the State Finals and set the standard for the younger runners to follow. Their leadership, commitment and contributions throughout the season will be missed. A special thank-you goes to all the parents, families, teachers, students, alumni and supporters who followed the team throughout the season and made the trip to Terre Haute. The support shown to these athletes, both at home and on the road, has meant a great deal to the entire program. Although the season did not end exactly as the Raiders had envisioned, there is plenty to appreciate about what this group accomplished. From winning the sectional championship to earning a third-place finish at the regional and qualifying for the State Finals, this team represented Harrison with pride. The season may be over, but the experience gained on Saturday will carry forward. With five state meet runners returning, the Raiders look forward to building on this year's accomplishments and continuing to raise the standard for Harrison boys cross country.
