This contest went back and forth and would take extra time with pens to determine the winner. The Raiders opened the scoring off an Adan Robles score to take an early lead, but Homestead answered with a goal of their own off a free kick from just outside the box in the first half. The Trojans then scored early in the 2nd half to take a one-goal advantage. With 20 minutes left in the game, the Raiders were able to find the back of the net for the equalizer! Franklin Caceres netted from distance to tie the game 2-2. The Raiders would apply pressure with several chances late, but this game would go to 2 extra OT periods and then to PKs. Marshall Crowell made a spectacular save, diving to the top left corner to block a Homestead shot. Joey McKenna took care of the rest by stepping up as the 5th PK taker for the Raiders. He would bury the shot and send the Raiders to the Semi-State Championship game. The Raiders moved to 17-1-3 on the season and will face South Bend Adams next Saturday in Chesterton for a chance to go to a State Title game for the 2nd year in a row.
