"Life of an Athlete" Meeting

By Chris VanEpps | Aug 31, 2026 8:22 AM

Our first “Life of an Athlete” presentation will take place on Monday, August 31 at 6:00 pm in the high school cafeteria. “Life of an Athlete” meetings are for our parents AND student athletes, giving an overview of our athletic program and our expectations when representing Hanover-Horton High/Middle School. These meetings are NOT just for “fall student-athletes,” but any student-athlete who fits the criteria from below. To put it simply, each student-athlete at Hanover-Horton must complete one “Life of an Athlete” meeting in his/her middle school career, AND one “Life of an Athlete” meeting in his/her high school career at the earliest convenience. More specifically, all incoming high school freshmen or middle school 7th graders (6th graders for middle school sports that allow participation–cross country, cheer, wrestling, track), all new student-athletes to the district, or any potential student-athlete who has not attended a previous “Life of an Athlete” meeting as either a high school student or middle school student while enrolled at Hanover-Horton needs to attend. Any Hanover-Horton High School or Middle School student-athlete who has already attended a “Life of an Athlete” presentation in his/her high school career or middle school student-athlete who has already attended a “Life of an Athlete” presentation in his/her middle school career at Hanover-Horton do NOT need to attend. However, ALL Hanover-Horton student-athletes will be given the athletic code of conduct/acknowledgement contract, a student transportation form, both the parent and student sportsmanship and online behavior forms, as well as a consent to treat form from Henry Ford Health Systems through our newly adopted Eventlink electronic platform.
