Boys Track Finishes NCC With a Win At Lowell

The boys track team finished the NCC regular season 5-1 with an 89-43 win at Lowell. There were many, many personal bests on one of the best weather days of the season by far. In the sprints, Zumji Gofwen placed second in a photo finish, but broke the school record by running a 10.99. Ben Alvarado placed 3rd with a personal best time. Tayceon Parkman, Dominic Giglio, Connor Dixon, jacob Ferko, Evan Marsiglio, Kendall ingram, Nate Balogun, Joey Johnson, mason Streit and Lucas Johnson ran personal best times. In the 200 Zumji, Tayceon Parkman and Dominic Giglio took the first three places, with Zumji running a personal best time. Ben Alvarado, Kendall ingram, Keegen Clay, Braden Powell, and Caden Rutkowski ran personal best times. David Murphy won the 400, with Jackson Barshack, Lucas Johnson, Keegen Clay, Caden Rutkowski and Josh Paredes running personal best times. In the hurdles, Rocco Lopes and Elijah Pennavaria swept the first two spots in both the 110 and 300 hurdles. Both running personal bests in the 110s and Elijah also in the 300s. Aaron Wilson ran a personal best in the 110s. The 4x400 relay team came from behind to run the fastest time of the season (3:29.25) The team consisted of Chase Fajman, Tayceon Parkman, Rocco Lopez and David Murphy. Chase and David ran personal best split-times. In the distance events, The team of Chris Epting, Noah Hernandez, Ryan Sandberg and Chase Fajman won the 4x800 relay. Ryan Sandberg and Chase Fajman placed 2nd and 3rd in the 1600. In the 800, Chase Fajman and Noah Hernandez placed 1st and 3rd, both running personal best times. Josh Paredes also ran a personal best in the event. in the 3200, Ryan Sandberg placed first with a personal best time, while Bennett Duffy finished 3rd. In the field events, AJ Noel, Mason Streit and Joey Johnson swept the pole vault. in hig jump, Rocco Lopez and Anthony Layman finished 1st and 3rd. In long jump, Evan Marsiglio finished 2nd with a personal best jump. Lincoln Zerby and Logan Zellon finished 2nd and third, with Lincoln throwing a personal best. Tyler Wornhoff and Luke Puent also threw personal bests. In the discus event, Lincoln Zerby and Logan Zellon placed 1st and 3rd, both with personal bests. Tyler Wornhoff and Aiden See also threw personal bests in discus. The team will travel to Illiana Christian on Friday, for the Illiana Invite, before heading to Hobart on Tuesday for the NCC Championship meet.
