The boys track team traveled to Chesterton to face many larger schools in the Chesterton Relays. The team faced host Chesterton, Crown Point, Warsaw, Michigan City, and West Lafayette. Familiar foes Highland and Munster were there as well. The team had some very good performances against this competition on a chilly day. The best placing came from the hurdle crew. A second place finish for the team of Jack Connor, Spencer Jackson, Aaron Wilson and Rocco Lopez in the shuttle hurdles, was followed up by another second place finish later in the 3x300 meter hurdles. That race was run by Rocco Lopez, Spencer Jackson, and Aaron Wilson, who ran a personal best time. Third place finishes came from the 4x100 relay team of Dominic Giglio, Connor Dixon, Ben Alvarado, and David Murphy, and the 3x3200 Relay team of Ryan Sandberg, Chase Fajman, and Caleb Cornett, all three of which ran personal best times. Other personal bests came from Logan Zellon in the shot put, Evan Marsiglio in the long jump, Gavin DeYoung in both high and long jump, AJ Noel in the pole vault, Chase Fajman in the 1600, Joey Johnson and Connor Dixon in the 4x400 relay, and Jacob Ferko in the Sprint Medley Relay. On Tuesday, the team will face a challenge as defending NCC champion Hobart comes to HC. Hope to have a good crowd on hand for Senior Night, good weather, and some great track and field performances.
