The Wildcats traveled to Laporte on Saturday to take part in a 4 team tournament. The Wildcats finished in 3rd place. The Wildcats opened up the day against a strong Goshen squad. At 1 singles Mitch Remaly fell short in a close match to Goshen, 7-5, 3-6, and 10-12 in the tiebreaker. At 2 singles, Ben Hall lost 4-6, 0-6. At 3 singles, Jacob Drewno came back from down a set to win 3-6, 6-3, and 10-3 in the tiebreaker. At 1 doubles, Henry Stessl and Patrick Juchniewicz lost 2-6, 4-6. At 2 doubles, Jack Ball and Ari Bairaktaris lost 4-6, 3-6. Hanover dropped the first match to Goshen 1-4. The Wildcats came back strong in the second match against Illiana. The Wildcats defeated Illiana 3-2. All three singles players dominated to lead the Wildcats to victory. Mitch Remaly won 6-0, 6-0. Ben Hall won 6-1, 6-2. Jacob Drewno won 6-2, 6-1. Drewno went undefeated on the day. Both doubles teams fought hard and played really close matches but just came up short. Stessl and Juchniewicz fell 6-4, 2-6, and 5-10 in the tiebreaker. Ball and Bairaktaris lost 4-6 and 5-7. The Wildcats will take on East Chicago tomorrow (Tuesday, 9/24) at 6 pm.
