Girls Tennis Wins Back to Back Top 5 Matches

The Guerin Catholic Girls Tennis team began the week with a #2 ranking in the latest Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association poll. That ranking was immediately put to the test as the Golden Eagles competed against two top 5 perennial powerhouses. On Monday, April 20, the Golden Eagles traveled to #5 Park Tudor. With the score tied 2-2 and only #1 Singles remaining, freshman Emily Pasman won in 3 sets to claim the victory as the sun set on an Indiana spring evening. Other winners were at #2 and #3 singles as Guerin Catholic won the match 3-2. Results: 1S - Emily Pasman def. PT (4-6, 6-2, 6-3) 2S - Cece Phillips def. PT (7-5, 7-5) 3S - Anna Kolb def. PT (7-6(4), 6-3) 1D - PT def. Grace Docktor/Katie Kolb (1-6, 6-7(4)) 2D - PT def Courtney Bassi/Abby Quigley (5-7, 4-6) Guerin Catholic 3, Park Tudor 2 The next day, the Golden Eagles traveled to Carmel to take on the #3 Greyhounds. In a possible sectional matchup, Guerin Catholic again won by the slimmest of margins and defeated the host Greyhounds 3-2. Results: 1S - Emily Pasman def.
