Varsity vs Kent City High School Win (10-0) Win Varsity vs Kent City High School (5-1) Win Game 1 Grant Varsity Tigers Victorious Over Kent City By GameChanger Media Grant Varsity Tigers took down Kent City 5-1 on Thursday. A single by Blake Rider on the seventh pitch of the at-bat put Grant Varsity Tigers on the board in the bottom of the first. Grant Varsity Tigers added two runs in the second. Kent City committed an error, making the score 3-0. A single by Rory Fish extended the Grant Varsity Tigers lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning. Owen Chesebro earned the win for Grant Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Wiles took the loss for Kent City. The starter went four innings, surrendering four runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking four. Fish, Austin Gragg, Rider, Kohen Obenauf, and Zaiden Phillips each collected one hit for Grant Varsity Tigers. Fish, Rider, and Phillips each drove in one run for Grant Varsity Tigers. Grant Varsity Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Kohen Obenauf doubled, scoring two runs, and Blake Rider singled, scoring one run. Rider earned the win for Grant Varsity Tigers. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out two and walking three. Hansen took the loss for Kent City. The pitcher went three and one-third innings, surrendering four runs on two hits, striking out four and walking three. Obenauf tossed one inning of no-run ball for Grant Varsity Tigers in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking none. Rider and Obenauf were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Grant Varsity Tigers while hitting back-to-back.
