Varsity vs Tri County Senior High School (14-7) Win Varsity vs Tri County Senior High School (14-7) Win Game 1 Rory Fish Leads Grant Varsity Tigers Past Tri County Area By GameChanger Media Rory Fish struck out 12 batters as the right-handed pitcher led Grant Varsity Tigers past Tri County Area 10-2 on Tuesday. Fish allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings while walking two. Grant Varsity Tigers won thanks in part to six runs in the seventh inning. Austin Gragg tripled, scoring one run, Owen Chesebro singled, scoring one run, Blake Rider singled, scoring one run, Fish singled, scoring two runs, and Jack Swanson grounded out, scoring one run. Tri County Area opened the scoring in the first after #11 singled, scoring one run. Gragg doubled to center field, which helped Grant Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the top of the third. In the top of the fourth, Grant Varsity Tigers broke up the tie when Swanson doubled, scoring two runs. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-1. #24 took the loss for Tri County Area. The hurler went five innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out 10 and walking three. Grant Varsity Tigers tallied 11 hits in the game. Swanson led Grant Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Game 2 Austin Tyers A Difficult Out As Grant Varsity Tigers Defeat Tri County Area By GameChanger Media Austin Tyers collected three hits in three at bats, as Grant Varsity Tigers defeated Tri County Area 14-7 on Tuesday. Tyers tripled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning. Grant Varsity Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kohen Obenauf tripled to center field, and Jacob Gates doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Grant Varsity Tigers scored five runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. #17 induced Obenauf to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Tyers singled, scoring two runs, Austin Gragg doubled, scoring one run, and Gates singled, scoring one run. Grant Varsity Tigers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Gragg singled down the right field line, Owen Chesebro singled down the left field line, and Gates walked, each scoring one run. Tri County Area scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Tyers induced #18 to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Micah Rider drew a walk, scoring one run, and Zaiden Phillips induced #5 to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored. Tyers earned the win for Grant Varsity Tigers. The pitcher gave up three hits and seven runs (four earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking five. #17 took the loss for Tri County Area. The starting pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking two. Chesebro and Phillips each came on in relief for Grant Varsity Tigers and shutdown Tri County Area. Grant Varsity Tigers collected 15 hits in the game.
