Grant Junior Varsity Tigers Victorious Over Belding By GameChanger Grant Junior Varsity Tigers were triumphant over Belding 4-2 on Friday. Grant Junior Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Bentley Freyburgher drew a walk, scoring one run. Grant Junior Varsity Tigers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Emerson Obenauf doubled, scoring two runs, and Hunter Holmgren singled, scoring one run. Hunter Holmgren earned the win for Grant Junior Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking seven. Adkins took the loss for Belding. The hurler went three innings, surrendering four runs on six hits, striking out five and walking three. Emerson Obenauf provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Grant Junior Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Tyler Lowry led Grant Junior Varsity Tigers with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Tulppo and Larsen each collected one hit for Belding. Belding had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Zahm, Kenyan, and Summer led the team with two free passes each.
