Congratulations to Grand Ledge senior Kailey Nelson on her commitment to Calvin University to continue her softball career. Kailey has been a dedicated member of the Varsity Program since her freshman year. "Kailey approaches the game with a student’s mindset, consistently challenges herself, and is always striving to improve and outperform her previous best," Comet head softball coach Allison Miller said. "Kailey will do amazing at Calvin!" In 2023, Kailey was named CAAC Academic All-Conference and In 2024, Kailey was named All-Academic, All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region. In 2025, she was named All-Academic and All-Conference Honorable Mention. Kailey ended the 2025 season with a .348 batting average, .591 slugging percentage, 24 RBIs, 7 HRs, 13 stolen bases, .980 fielding percentage, and 42 putouts.
