Lady Swords Sweep Savoy Cardinals Behind Ella Grace Wood’s Dominant Performance

The Lady Swords volleyball team took a commanding 3-0 sweep over the Savoy Cardinals on Friday night in Garland, Texas. Garland Christian Academy took control early and never looked back, winning in straight sets: 25-22, 25-14, and 25-4. Junior standout Ella Grace Wood led the charge with an impressive stat line, recording 14 attacks and 11 kills, consistently finding gaps in the Cardinals’ defense and energizing her team with clutch plays. After a competitive first set, the Lady Swords tightened their defense and sharpened their attack, dominating the second and third sets with poise and precision. The final set showcased their depth and discipline, closing out the match with a resounding 25-4 victory. Coach Sarah Johnson reflected on the match, saying, “We started slow, but we took control of the pace of the game after set one and dominated. I’m proud of these girls and their development, but we still have more to learn and figure out.” With this win, the Lady Swords continue to build momentum and confidence as they move deeper into the season.
