Tyler, TX — Garland Christian Academy opened their 2025 football season with a statement win on the road, overpowering Kings Academy 45–19 in Tyler on Friday night. Junior Noah Doddy led the receiving corps with three receptions and two receiving touchdowns, showcasing his speed and route-running ability as a key playmaker for the Swords. Fellow junior Halstead Smith contributed in a big way, finding the end zone twice — once on the ground and once through the air — demonstrating his versatility and athleticism. Senior Lucas Araiza added a powerful rushing touchdown, while freshman Preston VanVorst made his varsity debut memorable with a touchdown reception. The Swords’ defense held strong, limiting Kings Academy’s scoring opportunities and setting the tone for a dominant night. Garland Christian now turns its attention to next week’s home opener against Harvest Christian Academy (Keller). The game is set for Friday at 7:30 PM at Garland Christian Academy, and fans are encouraged to pack the stands and support the Swords as they look to build on their early momentum.
