Garland, TX — Garland Christian Academy’s Lady Swords fell to Cornerstone Christian in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-18) Tuesday night in Garland. Despite moments of strong play, Garland struggled to maintain offensive consistency against a disciplined Cornerstone squad. Freshman Tillie Kirby made her return to the court after an ankle injury, bringing energy and resilience to the Lady Swords lineup. Garland’s offense showed promise but was streaky throughout the match, unable to sustain momentum long enough to take control. Cornerstone’s Olivia Kuhn (#1) led all hitters with 15 kills, while Braden (#5) dominated from the service line with 8 aces, keeping Garland’s defense on its heels. On the defensive end, Garland’s Alivia Owen (#1) was a standout, recording 20 digs to lead all players. Garland Christian continues to battle injuries, with Haley Moore still sidelined. The team will look to regroup and rally as they prepare to host Lucas Christian on September 2 at 7:15 p.m. in what promises to be a competitive home matchup. With Kirby back and Owen anchoring the defense, the Lady Swords are poised to bounce back and make a statement on their home court.
