Varsity vs Heritage High School Loss Freeland traveled to Saginaw Heritage for final road season game and the annual Heritage "Pink Out" game. The Falcons were up for a test as Heritage came in as a Division 1 team with just 3 losses on the year. The Falcons started out confident as they jockeyed with the Heritage Hawks to find an advantage. The defensive 5 was ready for the challenge. led by Senior CDM Jackson Puvalowski, who seemed to gobble up any Heritage attack, with his feet and head, before it turned into true danger. Through the first 40 minutes the Freeland attack began to find chances, but it was that Falcon defense that dictated play. Keeper Sawyer prast with a diving save, Travis Lloyd with multiple clearances, Austin Kloha stepping forward with authority, Ollie Ung with solid positioning, Brady Vandaele with key header clearances and Puvalowski laying all 6' 4" of himself along the turf to block a would be shot; their combined efforts kept the game scoreless at half. The second half was more of the same. As the minutes ticked by the crowd grew anxious as they were unsure if or when the games first goal would come. Unfortunately it was one ball that slithered behind the Freeland defense that found a Heritage player in the 78th minute for the games only goal and 1-0 victory over the Falcons. Freeland now turns their attention to the win or go home playoffs. They host their opening game on October 20th at 6pm
