⛳ Falcons Finish 4th at Regionals — Heinz Advances to State Finals! ⛳ The Freeland Girls Golf team wrapped up its season Monday at the Division 3, Region 16 Regional at West Branch Country Club, finishing 4th overall with a team score of 422. The Falcons came up just 7 strokes short of qualifying for the State Finals as a team. Cold and windy conditions made for a challenging day across the field. The Falcons battled throughout the round, but some struggles on the greens ultimately proved costly in an incredibly tight race for the final qualifying spot. While the team season comes to an end, Alexis Heinz is headed to the State Finals! 🎉⛳ Alexis shot an 87 to tie for the lowest score in the field, earning an individual state qualification. She battled for the Regional Championship in a playoff before narrowly falling on the second playoff hole, officially finishing as the Regional Runner-Up. 🥈 The Falcons also received contributions throughout the lineup from Julia Kretz (105), Lauren Gerhardt (112), Taylor Beam (118), and Addison Hill (124) as the group battled through a difficult day. Although falling seven strokes short is a tough way to finish, there is plenty for this team to be proud of. From a 2nd-place TVC finish, three All-Conference golfers, a season-low 359, and numerous career-best rounds, this was a season filled with growth and success. Congratulations to all of our Falcons on a great season — and good luck to Alexis as she represents Freeland at the Division 3 State Finals! 🦅
