Junior Varsity vs Mt. Pleasant Senior High School (1 - 3) Loss JV Falcons Battle Hard, Fall to Oilers 3-1 The Mt. Pleasant Oilers struck first and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the JV Falcons came out of the break ready to respond. The Falcons found their equalizer when Isaac Amthor caught a pass near midfield and turned on the jets, racing down the field before finishing the run with a shot into the back of the net to make it 1-1. The Oilers answered back shortly after, regaining the lead and putting the Falcons under pressure. The Falcons continued to create opportunities. Bryce Collier delivered a dangerous kick into the box, where Bryce Zehnder rose for a strong header toward goal, only to have his attempt gathered by the Oilers goalkeeper. On the defensive end, goalkeeper Tyler Cudworth made a big-time play to keep the Falcons within striking distance. With an Oiler attacker charging toward goal, Cudworth came off his line and denied the scoring chance with a well-timed slide tackle. The Falcons battled until the final whistle, but with just one minute remaining, the Oilers found the back of the net one final time to seal a 3-1 victory. Despite the result, the Falcons showed plenty of fight and take on their next opponent Monday against the Alma Panthers.
