The team competed at the Al Kayner Invitational at Delta College on Saturday. The boys kicked things off with a strong performance, placing 9th overall as a team. Leading the boys was a strong individual performance by Eli Graham who placed 6th overall with a new personal best time. Eli worked hard throughout the summer putting in the miles, and the results show by running PB times in his first two meets of the year. Placing 32nd and just outside of the medals was Ethan Mielke, whose consistent strong performance is closing in on his personal best run last season. Two new runners to the team continue to improve each week. Blake Hammond has taken two and half minutes off of his opening meet time and Hudson Buckmaster has taken off nearly a minute. The girls were up next and continued with another top performance, winning the girls team competition by placing 5 in the top 30 spots, Evelyn Chan 8th, Bryar Rytlewski 10th, Hailey Haven 13th, Adalynn McNalley 14th and Brianna Ryan 30th. The whole team continues to improve including 3 of our new team members. Hannah Gronski has taken over a minute off from her season opener, Leah Keller over two minutes and Mackenzie Larimer a minute and a half. Proud of this entire team as they show up everyday and put in the work. We have a week of practice prior to entering a stretch where they will run 4 meets in 8 days.
