The Freeland JV Falcons kept their offense firing Tuesday night, delivering an impressive 8-0 victory over John Glenn. It didn’t take long for the Falcons to get on the board. Just minutes into the match, Bryce Smolarek found the back of the net to give Freeland an early 1-0 lead. Carter Kubiak added the second goal off an assist from Carter Minnis, then struck again after Devin Murphy set him up for his second goal of the night. With an assist from Emmett Cairy, Nolan Gassner followed, firing a strong shot into the upper-right corner to push the lead to 4-0. Bryce Zender added another before the break, sending the Falcons into halftime with a commanding 5-0 advantage. Freeland picked up right where it left off in the second half. Kubiak turned playmaker, setting up Smolarek for his second goal of the night and the Falcons’ sixth. Colton Sentz followed with goal No. 7. The Falcons capped off the night in style when Jack Weiss delivered a great cross into the middle and Kubiak was there to finish it, putting an exclamation point on the 8-0 Freeland victory. With contributions coming from across the lineup, the Falcons paired a relentless offensive attack with another strong defensive performance to secure the shutout.
