Varsity vs Birch Run High School Win The Falcons hosted the Birch Run Panthers looking to get back in the win column. It took just 1 minute and 10 seconds for the Falcons to score. Sophomore Ian Harden took a free kick from near the corner, finding one of his favorite targets Senior Jackson Puvalowski. Puvalowski settled the ball with his head and scored with a right-footed strike. Keeping the pressure on in the 8th minute, senior Nathan Anaya switched the field to sophomore Ryan Brown, who scored his first goal of the season. The next three goals came from junior Colin Earls—one off a saved ball by the keeper, one assisted by Nathan Anaya, and one assisted by Ryan Brown. The 6th goal was the first of the year for junior Carter Williston, who fired a shot from the right wing. In the 22nd minute, Ian Harden scored a goal of his own with an Olimpico from the left corner. The 8th goal came after a sequence of connected passes through the midfield, where senior Travis Lloyd found junior Jonas Koehler for the finish. In the 38th minute, Puvalowski returned the favor to Ian Harden. After beating two Panther defenders on the right side of the box, he flicked the ball across to Ian, who scored his second goal of the night. The game ended at half with a 9-0 Falcon victory and the 5th clean sheet of the year for keeper Sawyer Prast and his defensive crew. Freeland returns to conference play as they travel to John Glenn after the holiday weekend.
