Junior Varsity vs Clare High School Win JV Falcons’ Offense Soars in 8-0 Victory It was another offensive showcase for the Freeland JV Falcons, who found the back of the net early and often on their way to a commanding 8-0 victory. Bryce Collier got the Falcons rolling with the opening goal before Isaac Amthor connected off a well-placed corner kick from Colton Sentz to make it 2-0. From there, Carter Kubiak took over, scoring back-to-back goals with assists from Amthor and Sentz. Kubiak then turned playmaker, sending a cross into the middle of the box where Sentz was waiting to knock it home for goal No. 5. Davis Kenney earned the next opportunity after being fouled inside the box. He stepped up and made it look easy, burying a low shot into the corner. With just 23 seconds remaining in the first half, Alec Heinz added one more to send the Falcons into halftime with a commanding 7-0 lead. The Falcons wasted little time picking up where they left off in the second half, as Collier found the back of the net for his second goal of the night and the final tally of the game. While the offense filled the stat sheet, Freeland’s defense was equally impressive, shutting down opportunities on the other end and quickly getting the ball back into the attack. The strong effort on both sides of the field secured the clean sheet and an 8-0 Falcons victory. Up next: The Falcons hit the road Tuesday, September 8, to take on John Glenn.
