The game began with Freeland controlling much of the tempo and possession. While a few early chances for both teams did not result in scores, the Falcons earned their first corner kick in the 20th minute. Sophomore, Ian Harden's corner found the head of senior, Jackson Puvalowski, who headed it back across the box. Ian then served it back to Jackson, who found the back of the net off a full volley. This opening goal held the score at 1-0 as the Falcons continued their attack. In the 59th minute junior, Jonas Koehler, tracked down the ball near the end line and cut it back across the box to fellow junior, Colin Earls, who snuck it off the post to extend the lead to 2-0. Solid communication and positioning from the back five and keeper, Sawyer Prast, secured the first clean sheet of the season. The Varsity boys will be back in action this Saturday as they head to the Alpena tournament.
