Busy Week for The Flashes

By Josh Pierson | May 1, 2023 9:51 AM

Last week, the Flashes Boys' Track team had quite a week: To lead the week off, both the boys and girls track teams along with boys and girls basketball, football, cheerleading, and airmail club all "packed the bleachers" for the Unified Track Senior Night. Student Council brought pizza's to the track meet beforehand, and then everyone stayed and supported the Unified Track Program. This is one of our best events every year. Good job Flashes!! On Thursday, JV Boys' Track competed at Center Grove. The meet had some excellent performances- Josh Lasley broke 5:00 in the mile and Dylan Keck ran a blazing 51 second split to win the 4x400. As a team, the Flashes were defeated, but the comradery and support that the young guys showed during the meet was excellent. Coach Pierson was very proud of his JV squad despite the loss. Finally, on Friday April 28th, the Flashes won the First Annual Mooresville Blue Gold Relays. It was a very competitive meet but by a margin of only 8 points, the Flashes brought home the trophy. Great performances by the following young me: Ivan Weaver 1st in the 400, Evan Farmer won the 3200, Mathew Bertram took first place in pole vault, High jumpers Braylen Gillard and Jalen Howard were 1-2, and the 4x4 of Dylan Keck, Emilio Leal, Ivan Weaver, and Hudson Moritz put the icing on the cake to win the meet. We are so proud of these guys.
