By Scott Fischer | Sep 26, 2022 11:23 AM
The Flashes scored on the first play from Scrimmage on an 80 yard run by Nathan Sparks. The ensuing kickoff was into a strong wind and the ball after travelling 20 yards spun backwards into the waiting arms of kicker Zeke Dreher. Another long run by Nathan Sparks set up a rushing touchdown for Ryllen Echols from 7 yards out. Ryllen would score his second touchdown before halftime on another run from 5 yards out to give the team a 21-7 halftime lead. After a back and fourth scoreless third quarter and two more long touchdowns by Nathan Sparks called back on holding penalties, Hudson Moritz scored on a sweep after spinning at least 3 times and breaking numerous tackles on his way to the endzone. Dreher converted all 4 extra points on the day. The offensive line of Atkins, Cook, Ezeriah Secrest, Ian Wise and Landon Thomas along with TE Vince Webb did hard work of opening holes for the Flashes. The defense held the Millers to 7 points as the defensive line dominated the line of scrimmage and allowed the Linebackers, and the secondary, to tackle the Miller's running backs. Owen Atkins was disruptive all game from his defensive tackle spot and caused the fumble to set up Echols for his second score. Jose Butler and Noah Cook had fumble recoveries and and Butler and Echols each had an interception. The Flashes host Fishers High School next Saturday.
