The 7th-ranked Boys and 6th-ranked Girls Cross Country teams made history on Saturday in winning Marion County titles on the same day for the first time in school history. The boys were led by senior Brayden Henkle's 3rd place finish, and sophomore Evan Farmer's 5th place finish. Juniors Joey Ashman and Kade McDermott had stellar races both finishing in the top-10. Sophomore Emilio Leal and freshman Moses Stevenson rounded out the scoring with huge races to seal the victory. All 6 boys earned All-County honors. On the girls side, the Lady Flashes used solid pack running to place 4 girls in the top 8 overall. A Flash-pack of sophomore Dakota Miller, junior Ella DesJean, freshman Kaitlyn Pettet, and sophomore Savana Miller led the way with junior Kylie Cline charging in the last half of the race to finish 12th overall. All five girls earned All-County Honors. As if that wasn't impressive enough, the Freshman Boys earned the Freshman County Championship as well. Justin Reedus led the way finishing runner up overall. Great races were turned in by Cooper Trout, Josh Lasley, James Mehrlich, Sam Snow, Ben Heck, and Sawyer Owens. Both squads are next in action this Saturday at the always competitive Brownsburg Invitational.
