Volleyball takes down Southport on Senior Night

Backed by a packed gym, the varsity volleyball team defeat Southport Tuesday night 3-2 (25-14, 21-25, 19-25, 25-14, 16-14) while honoring their seniors. Senior captains Sam Harris, Regan Harvey and Liv Tarter were honored before the start of the match. The three have been instrumental in the culture within the Flashes program and will be missed next season. Tarter was solid on offense and defense putting up 12 kills and 12 digs while hitting 0.304%. Harvey also contributed on offense with 8 kills and 1 block. Harris paced the defense with 13 digs. Junior setter Abby Graves tied her career high with 52 assists and added 9 aces at the service line. Sophomore outside posted 18 kills over just four of the five sets to give her an impressive 4.5 kills per set ratio. She also posted 10 digs, giving her her first double double of the season. The Flashes, lead by their three seniors, wrap up a week at home on Thursday hosting Westfield in the first conference match of the year. Freshman and JV will start at 6, varsity to follow.
