The JV and varsity volleyball teams both swept Clinton Central tonight to round out their county play. Leading for the JV was Grace Myers with 17 assists and seven aces. Maddie Shoemaker had two kills, Morgan Berry had 10 digs, Kynlee Myers had seven kills and 3 aces, Izzy Edgar had three kills, Khloe Kingma had five kills, Karmen Vega had five digs, Sadie Sheets had four kills, and Bella Vega had a kill. In varsity action, the team started the night off with a kill from Lily Rockhold, which just so happened to be her 500th career kill. She went on to have 14 kills on the night with nine digs. Jalen Smith had 26 assists and four kills. Justine Thomas had six kills and six digs, Daizy Santos Valdez had six digs and two kills , and Chloe Moudy had a kill and a solo block. Addy Keck had five kills and two blocks. Defensively, Morgan Harrington led in digs with 12, Ashley Zheng picked up 10, and Caroline Queen had nine digs. It wasn’t her defense on the night that made Caroline Queen stand out, though. She began with a 13 to 0 run to start the match, tallying four aces and serving 23 points for her team. Freshman Grace Myers came in and served an ace and 2 points for the team in game three. Great job ladies on a 3-0 county record!! Once again, a huge thanks to the band and the student section for bringing the noise to Case Arena!! Let’s do it one more time for our seniors next Tuesday as we face Crawfordsville on senior night. https://www.youtube.com/live/7JHBVlT9-Uc?si=KxlfWByh5KKYG87B&t=249
