August 23, 2025 — The Forest Park Rangers improved to 2-0 on the season and in conference play Saturday morning with a gritty 2-1 road victory over Tell City. After a scoreless first half, the Rangers found their rhythm in the second, netting two goals and holding off a late surge by the Marksmen. The opening 40 minutes saw both teams struggle to break through offensively. Tell City managed four shots, with only one forcing a save from Forest Park goalkeeper Dexter Meyer. Meanwhile, the Rangers were limited to three shots and failed to win a single corner in the half, while Tell City earned four. But the second half belonged to the Rangers. In the 56th minute, Luke Meunier set up Lucas Dooley with a perfectly timed pass that Dooley slotted home to open the scoring. Just ten minutes later, Hunter Osborne doubled the lead, giving Forest Park a comfortable 2-0 cushion heading into the final stretch. Tell City clawed one back with just three minutes remaining, but Meyer, who recorded three more saves in the second half, helped the Rangers hang on for the win. The Rangers will look to keep their strong start rolling on Tuesday, August 26, when they host Heritage Hills at Cedar Crest Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
