Jr. High Tennis falls to Tecumseh

The Jr. High boys tennis team opened their season with a hard-fought 2–3 loss to the visiting Tecumseh Braves. At varsity, Landon Wirthwein cruised to an 8–0 victory at No. 1 singles, while Trey Benton also claimed a strong win, 8–1. Clark Welp fell 2–8 at No. 3 singles. In doubles action, Forest Park’s No. 1 doubles team, Harrison Gutgsell and Declan Nord, battled hard but came up short, losing 4–8. At No. 2 doubles, Kollin Betz and Wren Englert were defeated 0–8. On the Junior Varsity side Ross Fleck and Carter Beier secured a hard fought 5-4 doubles win, while teammates Leo Schaeffer, Hudson Sitzman, Daniel Marx, and Quintin Fromme also put in solid performances. The Rangers will return to the court Monday night at 6:30 as they travel to Heritage Hills for their next match.
