Despite jumping out to an early four-run lead, Forest Park Varsity Rangers couldn’t hold off Castle, falling 15-9 on Thursday evening at home. Carter Jochem took the loss in relief, tossing 1.2 innings and allowing two runs on three hits. EJ Brosmer got the start for the Rangers, going three innings and surrendering five runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out one. Offensively, the Rangers put up nine runs behind a balanced effort at the plate. Hudson King led the way with a 2-for-3 performance. Jared Burger, Nolan Begle, Talon Rohleder, and King each drove in two runs, keeping Forest Park within striking distance for most of the game. The loss came on a night the program honored its six seniors — Nolan Begle, Elijah Brosmer, Tyler Fetter, Korbyn Persohn, Will Persohn, and Talon Rohleder — for their commitment and contributions to Ranger Baseball. The ceremony recognized the leadership and dedication these student-athletes have shown throughout their time in the program. Forest Park returns to action on Friday with a home matchup against Perry Central.
