The Forest Park Rangers used a big middle innings surge to earn a 9-3 win over Loogootee on Monday night. Forest Park got on the board in the second inning when Cohen Hoppenjans delivered an RBI single to give the Rangers an early lead. They added two more runs in the third, including a sacrifice fly from Hudson King, to make it 3-0. The Rangers broke the game open in the fourth inning with a five-run outburst. Eli Brockman started the scoring with an RBI single before Jared Burger delivered the biggest hit of the night, a bases-clearing double that brought home three runs. King followed with an RBI double as Forest Park extended the lead to 8-0. Burger had a huge night at the plate, collecting three hits in three at-bats, including the key double in the fourth inning. Hoppenjans also finished with three hits and drove in three runs from the bottom of the lineup. The Rangers totaled 11 hits in the game, with Damion Kline adding two more hits. Forest Park also stayed aggressive on the bases, stealing six bags during the win. On the mound, Camron Lueken earned the victory after allowing just one earned run over five innings while striking out four. Griffin Haas came on in relief to help finish the game. With contributions throughout the lineup, the Rangers controlled the game from the middle innings on and picked up another strong home win. Forest Park returns to action Tuesday against North Posey.
