The Forest Park Rangers battled back throughout the night but came up just short in an 8-7 loss to Heritage Hills on Thursday. Heritage Hills struck first in the opening inning before Riley Begle answered quickly for the Rangers with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. Heritage Hills regained control in the second inning with a pair of run-scoring singles to move ahead 3-1. They added another run in the third after an error pushed the lead to 4-1. Despite trailing for much of the night, Forest Park continued to chip away. The Rangers put together quality at-bats throughout the game and finished with 12 hits, doubling the hit total of Heritage Hills. The biggest rally came in the sixth inning. Forest Park strung together several hits to erase the deficit and tie the game at 7-7. Camron Lueken delivered the game-tying hit during the rally, bringing the Rangers all the way back. The game remained tied until the seventh inning, when Heritage Hills scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly. Forest Park threatened throughout the night behind strong offensive performances from the middle of the lineup. Begle led the Rangers with three hits and four RBIs, while Cam Lueken also collected three hits. Jaxon Lueken added two more hits in the loss. On the mound, Hudson King battled through five innings, allowing five runs while helping keep the Rangers within striking distance.
