The Forest Park Rangers earned a 7-2 win over Apollo on Friday, using strong pitching and steady offense to take control. The game stayed scoreless early before Forest Park broke through in the third inning. Grant Fleck brought in the first run on a groundout to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. From there, Forest Park continued to build its advantage with timely hitting and consistent pressure at the plate. The Rangers finished with multiple key contributions throughout the lineup, gradually extending the lead as the game went on. On the mound, Jaxon Lueken delivered one of his strongest outings of the season. He pitched six innings, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out eight and walking one. His performance kept Apollo’s offense in check and allowed the Rangers to stay in control. Cohen Hoppenjans came on in relief to help close out the game. Offensively, Carter Jochem led the way with two RBIs, while Camron Lueken provided a spark from the lower part of the lineup with two hits. The Rangers also backed up their pitching with solid defense, including turning a double play. Apollo was limited to just a few scoring opportunities, finishing with four hits on the night. Forest Park will look to keep the momentum going as they travel to North Daviess on Saturday.
