The Forest Park Rangers were defeated 7-1 by Washington on Thursday night. Washington broke through in the second inning, scoring the game’s first run on a groundout. They added to their lead in the third, putting together a key offensive inning that included a two-run single and another run to extend the advantage to 4-0. Forest Park battled throughout the game but had trouble finding momentum at the plate against a strong Washington pitching performance. The Rangers finished with three hits, with Cohen Hoppenjans, Eli Brockman, and Riley Begle each recording one. Brockman drove in Forest Park’s only run of the game, helping the Rangers avoid the shutout. On the mound, Carter Jochem worked four and two-thirds innings for Forest Park. He battled through a tough Washington lineup and kept competing despite the Hatchets’ offensive pressure.
