The Forest Park Rangers put together a complete performance on Tuesday night, rolling past Pike Central 15-0. Forest Park set the tone immediately with a huge first inning. The Rangers scored early and often, as Riley Begle delivered a two-RBI single, Carter Jochem added an RBI groundout, Damion Kline and Cohen Hoppenjans each drove in runs, and an error brought in another, giving Forest Park a commanding early lead. The offense stayed aggressive in the second inning, extending the lead to 7-0 behind continued pressure at the plate and smart baserunning. In the third inning, the Rangers broke the game open even further. Hoppenjans doubled to right field, Grant Fleck followed with a double of his own, and Hudson King added a run-scoring single. Forest Park also continued to manufacture runs with productive outs, stretching the lead to 15-0. On the mound, Camron Lueken delivered a strong outing, pitching five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three to earn the win. Offensively, the Rangers finished with 11 hits and showed balance throughout the lineup. Hoppenjans, Fleck, King, and Begle each had two hits, while King and Begle led the team with three RBIs apiece. Forest Park also used speed on the bases, stealing five bags, including two from Fleck. Forest Park will look to carry the momentum into Thursday’s matchup at Washington.
