The Forest Park JV Rangers kept competing Friday, but couldn’t keep pace with Mater Dei in a 9-1 loss. Mater Dei came out fast, scoring four runs in the first inning to take early control. They added to the lead in the third and kept pressure on throughout the game. The Rangers didn’t go quiet. Forest Park showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks and finding ways to get on base. Griffin Haas led the way with two walks. On the bases, the Rangers stayed aggressive. Trevor James swiped three bags, and Forest Park finished with four stolen bases as a team. Hits were spread out across the lineup, with Cash Laake, Jace Brockman, Aiden Lubbers, and Ian Kemper each picking one up. On the mound, Brockman came in relief and gave the Rangers solid innings, while Fleck got the start. The Rangers kept battling from start to finish, but couldn’t close the gap against a strong Mater Dei team.
