The Forest Park JV Rangers showed early fight Monday, but a big middle stretch from Evansville North led to a 13-3 loss. Forest Park got on the board right away in the first inning when Cohen Hoppenjans drove in a run on a groundout. After Evansville North answered with two runs, the Rangers came right back again in the second. Jace Brockman laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring in a run and tie the game at 2-2. The game stayed close early, but the Huskies started to build momentum in the second and third innings, taking the lead and slowly creating separation. Evansville North broke things open in the fourth, putting up six runs in the inning to extend the lead. Despite the score, the Rangers kept competing. Hoppenjans and Rylan Fletcher each collected two hits, while Trevor James added energy on the bases with two stolen bags. As a team, Forest Park swiped four bases and stayed aggressive throughout. Fleck added an RBI, and the Rangers finished with solid contact at the plate against a tough arm. Haas got the start on the mound, working three innings. Forest Park showed flashes early and never stopped competing, but couldn’t slow down the Huskies once they got rolling.
