The Forest Park Rangers earned a 10-3 win over Mount Vernon on Tuesday, using a big sixth inning to pull away. Forest Park got off to a strong start, scoring in the first inning on a single from Riley Begle. The Rangers added two more runs in the second when Eli Brockman delivered an RBI single to make it 3-0. The game remained under control thanks to a strong performance on the mound from Jaxon Lueken. He struck out 10 batters over four innings and allowed just one hit while keeping Mount Vernon off the board. Forest Park broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring seven runs. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run from Lueken, along with multiple runs driven in after hit-by-pitches and a run-scoring single from Jared Burger. The Rangers finished with 13 hits. Lueken, Carter Jochem, Burger, and Begle each collected two hits, while Lueken led the team with three RBIs. Forest Park will be back in action Thursday as they host Boonville.
