The Fishers Tigers traveled to Noblesville to open IHSAA Sectional play and jumped out to an early first half lead en route to a 41-13 victory. Quarterback Gage Sturgill passed for almost 200 yards and 4 touchdowns including 2 to Vincent Rozzi. Running back Ryan Thembulembu added two touchdowns on the ground. The Millers received the opening kickoff, but the Tigers defense set the tone early and force a quick punt after a 3-and-out. Thembulembu took the first play from scrimmage for 39 yards to get the Tigers in great position. Sturgill eventually connected with Tommy Williams for his first career receiving touchdown. The Millers were forced to punt on their second drive, but a bad snap gave the Tigers the ball on the 6-yard line. On 3rd down, Thembulembu would find the end zone. After a defensive stop by the Tigers, Noblesville converted on a fake punt to get the ball to midfield. However, a fumble two plays later was recovered by Connor Hackworth to give Fishers the ball. After a 17-yard pass to Darian Girton got the Tigers into good field position, Thembulembu scored for the 2nd time on the evening to push the score to 21-0 to end the first quarter. After a punt early in the 2nd quarter, the Tigers continued their offensive attack as Sturgill found Girton across the middle for a short completion. Girton was able to run away from the defenders and find the end zone. The Tigers defense was tough on the next possession and forced a turnover on downs. Fishers would drive into Millers territory and Sturgill found Rozzi for an easy touchdown reception to make the score 27-0 in favor of Fishers. Noblesville answered back using screen passes and Ethan Clark found the end zone for a 12-yard run to get the Millers on the board. Both teams traded punts, and the Tigers had the ball at their own 9-yard line with just over a minute to play in the half. Fishers put together a great end of half drive including a 29-yard catch by Osias Sims to get the ball to midfield. With about 20 seconds to go, Sturgill found Rozzi over the middle who tipped the ball to himself a couple times before hauling in the touchdown reception to make the score 41-6 at the half in favor of Fishers. After halftime, the clock was running as the game progressed quickly. Fishers turned the ball midway through the 3rd quarter. Quarterback Windsor Hutchins found Cody Prather for a long pass, but Kayden Myers tracked him down and forced a fumble that was recovered by Jaxson Andrews to give the ball back to the Tigers. Later in the 4th quarter, backup Manny Hill-Altamirano found Nick Morris for a 7-yard touchdown for the Millers to make the score 41-13. Fishers will host the Sectional 4 championship next Friday night.
