The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (6-10-1/4-7) battled back from a 7-run deficit but ended up with a tie at 11 after 9 innings against the Harrison Raiders. The teams agreed to a tie due to lateness and the remaining weekly schedule. The Raiders put 3 runs on the board in the 1st, including 2 unearned runs after a field error. The Tigers would answer back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd. Carter Davis reached on a single and Collin Bumps used aggressive baserunning to score from 2nd on the play. A wild pitch would bring in one more. Harrison continued to score and tried to pull away as the score was 10-3 midway through the 5th inning. In the bottom of the 5th, Andrew Baldini provided a sacrifice fly before a triple from Justin Brown brought in two more runs to make the score 10-6. Fishers showed great fight in the bottom of the 7th as they tied up the game and forced extras. Connor Hackworth reached on an error that allowed Ethan Buelt and Brown to score. Parker Congdon hit a triple that drove in one more to narrow the gap before Vinny Pecoraro connected on a double to score courtesy runner Micah Moore to tie the game. The Raiders second baseman made a diving play and a great throw to record the final out of the 7th and keep the score tied. Both teams added a run in the 8th as Connor Hackworth laid down a sacrifice bunt that wasn’t fielding cleanly by the defense allowing Buelt to score from 2nd. Asher Nelson started for the Tigers and allowed 4 earned runs in his 3 innings of work. Alex Ellis provided a solid two innings of relief, but 4 unearned runs hurt his line. Max Meyer was great in relief as he recorded 5 strikeouts in 2 innings, and Dylan Brack provided a gutsy performance as he pitched the 8th and 9th for the Tigers.
