The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (6-11-1/4-8) couldn’t get their offense going until late in the game in a loss to the Avon Orioles by a score of 7-2. The Tigers started out strong on the mound and defensively as starting pitcher Caleb Compton record consecutive 1-2-3 innings. However, walks, hit by pitches, and some hits from the Orioles got Avon going in the 3rd and 4th innings as Avon held a 6-0 after the 4th inning. Micah Moore led off the 7th with a triple but was called out trying to advance home on a would-be sacrifice fly from Asher Nelson. Vinny Pecoraro singled to bring in two runs with 2 outs, but that was it for the Tigers rally. Fishers made good contact at the plate as the Tigers only struck out 3 times. But all the batted balls seemed to be hit right at Orioles defenders. Caleb Compton took the loss on the mound for the Tigers. Blake Wilson provided 2.2 innings of relief while allowing 1 unearned run and 1 hit while recording 2 strikeouts.
