The #3 Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball Team (10-1/4-0) pounded out 13 hits on their way to a 12-3 victory over Greenfield-Central Cougars. The Tigers wasted little time scoring, as the 2nd batter, Huston Dunn, hit his 1st homerun over the right field fence. Zander Carnahan hit the very next pitch off the left field fence for a double. Jase Ruggles hit the next pitch after that for a double to centerfield. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Collin Hebert continued his hot start to the season delivering a 2-strike, 2-run RBI signle to left to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead after the top half of the 1st inning. Two outs later, Lukac stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on a throwing error from the catcher. The next 5 batters would reach safely to spark the 2-out rally. Trevor Hall delivered an RBI single to score Lukac. Dunn singled off the pitcher’s glove. After a wild pitched moved Hall and Dunn to 2nd and 3rd , Carnahan lined a 2-run single to left centerfield. Ruggles followed with a walk. Hebert reached safely on an error allowing Carnahan to score from 2nd. The Cougars attempted to throw Ruggles out at 3rd base inducing another throwing error to allow Ruggles to score. The Cougars would add a run in the 3rd to cut the score to 8-3. Trevor Hall led off the 4th with a solo homerun just left of dead center for his 1st homerun of the season. The Tigers added 3 more runs in the 6th on an RBI single from Mayo Fernandez and RBI groundouts by Ruggles and Lukac. Hall and Carnahan led the Tigers with 3 hits and 2 RBI each. Dunn also delivered 2 hits and an RBI. Hebert finished with 2 RBI. Grant Wolf (2-0) earned the victory on the mound pitching 3 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3.
