JV2 Baseball Beats Noblesville Behind Benefiel's Complete Game Shutout

Fishers Tigers JV Silver (5-0) beat Noblesville JV Gold 2-0 in a pitchers’ duel last night. . The Tigers were able to shut out Noblesville on the back of Luke Benefiel who pitched a complete game. Benefiel only surrendered 2 hits on the night while walking only 2 batters. He added 6 strikeouts on the night with many coming in key situations. It was a stalemate early in the game with both pitchers keeping the offenses at bay. The Tigers were able to get a few walks in first two innings but nothing came from it. In the top of the 3rd the Tigers defense flashed the leather making 3 great plays to get the Millers 1-2-3. Isaac Fernandez made a great play when the ball shoot off the infield lip. Noblesville 9 hitter laid down a perfect bunt to 3rd base but Taylor Meaux came in hard and barehanded ball with a quick throw on the run to get the runner. The last big play was on a hard line drive one hop to Jackson Pinchouck who backhanded the ball and got the out. The Tiger broke through on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 5th inning with 2 outs after Meaux and Pinchouck both singled to get on base. Cullen Wolf who was 3-3 on the day came up and smoked a line drive to right field to score both runs. Benefiel came back out for the 7th and retired Noblesville 1-2-3 on 6 pitches to secure the win. Cullen Wolf was 3-3 with 2RBI. Eli Poisel had 2 hits on the day going 2-3. Ferguson, Meaux, and Pinchouck all had 1 hit on the day.
