The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (2-4/1-3) outhit the Noblesville Millers but fell in an early hole and couldn’t come all the way back as they took the 6-5 loss. The Millers scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st before the Tigers batted, but Fishers outscored the Millers 5-3 through the final 6 innings. Courtesy runner Micah Moore got the first run on the board with great baserunning in the 3rd inning. Moore took off on the pitch which Miles Tebben hit into left field. The Millers tried to make a play at 3rd, but the throw was late. Tebben advanced to 2nd and the subsequent throw there flew into right field allowing Moore to score. Andrew Baldini followed with a single to bring the score to 4-2 in favor of the Millers. The Tigers would tie the game in the bottom of the 4th as Sean Frey delivered a 2-out RBI single and Justin Brown reached on an error allowing Vinny Pecoraro to score. Noblesville would answer with 2 runs to take back the lead in the 5th, but the Tigers fought back in the bottom of the 6th. After loading the bases, Frey grounded out to bring in a run, but a pop out and a strikeout ended the scoring threat. Collin Bumps made the defensive play of the night as he threw out a runner trying to advance from 2nd to 3rd on a fly ball to center field. Caleb Compton pitched well in relief but took the loss on the mound as he went 3 innings and allowed 2 runs while striking out 3 Millers. Max Meyer was also good in relief as he contributed 2 hitless innings to give the Tigers a chance late in the game.
