Fishers High School

The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (1-1/0-1) fell to the Zionsville Eagles in 8 innings despite holding the Eagles hitless until the top of the 8th inning. Blake Wilson was solid on the mound in his start as he went 4 innings and recorded 4 strikeouts. Alex Ellis relieved Wilson but walks and a fielding error allowed the Eagles to score 2 runs in the 5th inning. Max Meyer was also solid in his 3 relief innings but ultimately took the loss. The Tigers also got on the board in the bottom of the 5th inning. A leadoff bunt single by Micah Moore and a walk from Asher Nelson got baserunners on for Fishers. Sean Frey reached on an error that allowed Moore to score, but the Eagles got out of the jam. The Tigers would tie up the game in the bottom of the 6th inning. Grant Wolf walked and pinch runner Matthew Smith eventually scored on a great dirt ball read that the catcher threw away.
